After a year 2022 called “reassuring” by the Friborg Hospital and a loss of 4.2 million francs, the year 2023 was not as bright. Despite the anticipation of the impact of inflation, the indexation of salaries and the status quo of prices in the budget, the loss amounts to 36.4 million francs against the 27.9 million expected.

Last year, the HFR treated more than 22,300 inpatient cases while outpatient activity (excluding Covid-19) saw an increase of 7% compared to 2022. Turnover is increasing by 0.6% to reach 559.9 million francs. Expenses increased by 7.1% to 576.1 million francs. To explain this increase, the HFR points to personnel costs, but also inflation which has had a significant impact on the costs of everyday consumer goods.
