The head of the PLR group at the Grand Council wants to conquer Geneva City Hall. She will first have to face Pierre de Boccard internally.

Natacha Buffet-Desfayes announced this morning to the Tribune de Genève her ambition to sit at the Palais Aynard. “I think that the population is ready to have two representatives of the right at Geneva town hall,” she announces. With my background, I think I have skills to bring, a global vision and the desire to go there.

“We must dare traditions”

Teacher, Natacha Buffet-Desfayes refuses to be classified as a civil servant. She denounces “this form of dogmatism, where you are told how you must think, how you must eat, how you must write (…). I think it’s very important to show that there is a form of freedom. I believe that we must dare to follow traditions and not try to have a message that is misunderstood by most of the population.”

Among his proposals: a reduction in municipal taxes, but also a local preference. “We must prioritize people who have skills in the region. A magistrate must each time be informed of the selection of a person from outside the area. Information must circulate. In terms of culture, we must also favor local companies.” The MP also wants a change in policy regarding planning and traffic.

Natacha Buffet-Desfayes will first have to stand out internally against Pierre de Boccard, former president of the Municipal Council. In the event of victory, two departments already interest him. Finances, and culture: “It would be good to have another vision and another way of functioning.”
