In Seine-et-Marne, as in the rest of , the European Heritage Days weekend is an opportunity to discover heritage elements, sometimes little-known. Some sites open their doors to the public on this occasion, so you should not miss this event.

To help you sort through the huge program of visits, walks, conferences, and shows offered on September 21 and 22, 2024 in Seine-et-Marne, The Marne has produced a Top 5 (and even a little more) of unique events and sites to discover:

  • Meaux : projection of a mapping on the American monument. The show will take place on Friday, September 20 at 9:30 p.m. The public will be able to witness the great moments of the History of Meaux but also of the First World War with images projected on the monument recalling the Sarajevo attack, the trench warfare, up to the lightning strike on the statue and its reconstruction.
  • Lagny-sur-Marne : candlelight concert. See you on Saturday, September 21, starting at 8 p.m. Two concerts will take place in the patio of the town hall. For the occasion, dozens of candles will be lit in the patio, giving a magical and emotional atmosphere to the place.
  • Brou-sur-Chantereine : Women in the Resistance, Sunday, September 22 at 4 p.m., in the town hall park. “In the Shadow of Roses” is a musical show that will invite you to take an interest in the place of women in the Resistance. “The show offers a dive into the heart of the terrible conflict of the Second World War through the eyes of women,” says the company.
  • Monthyon : an exhibition dedicated to Romy Schneider will be presented at the Jean-Claude Brialy estate. It will also be an opportunity to discover the Romy rose in the rose garden of the illustrious. Romy Schneider stayed at the estate several times, particularly after the tragic death of her son. • Ferrieres-en-Brie : This is the only time of year when the curious can visit the Château de Ferrières, the former home of the Rothschilds. In addition to the imposing dimensions of the castle and its classical architecture, the Château de Ferrières-en-Brie designed by the English architect Joseph Paxton is a luxurious residence. The materials are made to provide beauty and comfort: marble, leather, statues covered in gold leaf, crystal chandeliers…

Not forgetting also the Japanese gardens in Magny le Hongre, the CRS4 gardens in Pomponne, the Menier city in Noisiel or even the Houssoy dungeon in Crouy-sur-Ourcq which will house a medieval village all weekend.
