To you, to me. Not a single event goes by without the duel for the title between Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) taking a different turn. Last Sunday, the Italian took a big blow to the helmet when he crashed in Misano. This Saturday, it was the Spaniard, leader of the World Cup, who made a mistake and left the field open to his rival during the sprint race of the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Starting from pole, Martin lost the lead at the very start of the race, while he was already under pressure from the reigning double world champion, who made an excellent start after starting from fourth row. The Italian therefore inherited first place and was ultimately never really worried, neither by Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46), nor by Marc Marquez (Honda) – also the author of a hell of a start – nor by his teammate Enea Bastianini, his successive runners-up.

This scenario allowed Bagnaia to halve its deficit in the championship. Martin, who quickly got back on his machine after his fall, was not able to get a single point, despite his rise to 10th place, and now only has a 12-unit margin at the top of the standings. Johann Zarco (Honda-LCR) scored two precious points after a very good race to climb to eighth place, while Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) could not do better than 12th position.
