After a six-year absence, the 2025 Tour de France should pass through Toulouse. With two stage towns in Haute-Garonne, a start in Muret on July 17 and a finish in Luchon. The answer will be on October 29 during the official announcement of the route of this 117th edition of the Grande Boucle.

We will have to wait for the official presentation of this 117th edition of the Tour de France, on October 29, to know for sure, but the 2025 Grande Boucle could well return closer to the Toulouse metropolis, after six years of absence. According to our colleagues at France Bleu Occitanie, the peloton should this year spend a day of rest in Toulouse before setting off from Muret on July 17, to reach the town of Luchon. This point, for the moment, has not been confirmed by the municipality of Muret.
Muret, four years later
But we know the enthusiasm of this town of 26,000 souls for this very popular event, with unrivaled media coverage. Proof of this is during the last passage of the Tour de France three years ago, on July 14, 2021, some 20,000 spectators made the trip for this 17th stage between Muret and Saint-Lary-Soulan in the Hautes-Pyrénées… A success that this town still remembers for a long time.
Because in Muret, the Tour de France is welcome. And above all, always eagerly awaited. The mayor of Muret, André Mandement, would have included it in his roadmap. He regularly applies to ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation) to host the peloton and the caravan as a starting stage town, perhaps with the Jean-Jaurès park for the installation of the VIP village and a start on the allées Niel as in 2021.

As is customary, the mayor of Muret will probably have entered into a confidentiality agreement with Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour de France for this 2025 edition.
