After being based on Boulevard Raspail since 1994, the Fondation Cartier will set up shop on Place du Palais Royal, very close to the Louvre Museum. This new installation is primarily there to celebrate an anniversary, the 40th, but also to participate in the urban and cultural development of the city of . The new Cartier Foundation, an architectural gem

New place designed by the architect John Newthe Fondation Cartier creates a dialogue between the old, a typically Parisian Haussmannian style, and the contemporary, renovated premises that adapt perfectly to the history of the building.To settle in such an impressive place, due to its location and its history, implies inventing something. And what one invents is not automatically read in steel or stone. Formerly located on Boulevard Raspail, the Fondation Cartier is taking on color and moving to the Place de Palais Royal, near Boulevard Saint-Honoré and Rue de Rivoli. The project John New allows a real opening both spatially and artistically with the installation of bay windows and large exhibition areas (6,500 m2). By changing its vacation spot, the Fondation Cartier begins a new chapter in its history for the end of 2025. A turning point in its chronology, it will be placed in the heart of Paris in the cultural effervescence of famous museums.

Core values ​​at the heart of the artistic space

Through this ambitious project, the Cartier Foundation, created in 1984 by Alain Dominique Perrincontinues to perpetuate its commitments similar to those of the original. Indeed, the Foundation was the first private place to promote contemporary art in . Thus, the space was designed to highlight world-renowned artists as well as prodigies of the younger generation. Through exhibitions and residencies, the Fondation Cartier considered as a place of freedom and exchange is important for the artistic scene. In 1994, it moved to 261 Boulevard Raspail, in a building made of glass and steel designed by a certain John New.
