The Haute-Corse department has been placed on orange alert for Tuesday evening and Wednesday.

The expected totals for the episode are in the order of 80 to 100 mm generalized.

Caution will be advised on Tuesday evening in the north of the Isle of Beauty. The department of Upper Corsica was placed on orange alert for thunderstorms and rain-flooding from 9 p.m. The alert will remain in place until at least 8 p.m. on Wednesday. “In Haute-Corse, rains began this Tuesday afternoon, taking on a stormy character in the eveningexplains Météo in its 10 a.m. bulletin. Sustained hourly intensities of between 20 and 30 mm per hour are expected.”

“These rains will continue until at least Wednesday evening. The cumulative amounts expected during the episode are in the order of 80 to 100 mm in general, with up to 150 mm locally or even a little more.”details the meteorological institute.
