Bordeaux Métropole and Gironde, new online genealogical resources

The Métropole Archives continue to expand their online resources as the annual digitization campaigns progress. Concerning civil status, the latest online updates allow consultation to be extended up to 1922 for birth, marriage and death certificates.

These are the municipalities of Ambarès-et-Lagrave (1918-1922), Blanquefort (1913-1922), Bordeaux (1922), Bruges (1913-1922) and (1921-1922), i.e. 2,865 registers and 964,000 additional pages. Concerning population censuses, the commune of Haillan sees its registers now published for the years 1872 to 1936or 776 additional pages.

The Departmental Archives are not to be outdone and have announced the online publication of nearly 175,000 new images from civil status registers submitted by the Bordeaux High Court. For the moment, only municipalities beginning with the letters B to H are concerned. But that still makes 143 municipalities (including Bordeaux) whose registers are enriched. online.
