Meeting of the High Joint Morocco-Belgium Partnership Commission: Signing of two memorandums of understanding and a cooperation roadmap

Rabat – Morocco and Belgium signed, Monday in Rabat, two memoranda of understanding and a cooperation roadmap on the occasion of the 3rd meeting of the High Joint Morocco-Belgium Partnership Commission.

These agreements, signed during this meeting co-chaired by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and the Belgian Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo, concern memoranda of understanding on the modernization of the Judicial Administration and green energy as well as as a road map relating to the actions carried out within the framework of the political dialogue.

The Cooperation Roadmap, signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and Federal Cultural Institutions , Hadja Lahbib, lists the actions carried out within the framework of the political dialogue (holding of political consultations, meeting of MAEs and organization of the HCM) and outlines the prospects for bilateral cooperation in various areas (energy transition, migration, security, rights of the man…).

Furthermore, the memorandum of understanding in the field of modernization of the judicial administration, signed by the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice and the North Sea, Paul Van Tigchelt, aims to establish a framework for collaboration and exchange between the parties in terms of modernizing the administration of justice, strengthening its management capacities and developing its resources, through the exchange of information on legislative developments related to the field of justice, technical support for justice reform projects, etc.

As for the memorandum of understanding relating to the field of green energy, signed by the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, and Ms. Hadja Lahbib, it aims to develop cooperation between the two parties, on the basis of mutual benefit, in the field of green energy, including green ammonia, through the encouragement of exchanges in these areas and the support of the efforts made by both parties for the production and distribution of green hydrogen and ammonia for local consumption, regional and international export to industrial clusters in the Kingdom of Belgium and other countries of the European Union.
