Update on what will be open or not in Aveyron this Wednesday.
You will not find many stores or services open on Wednesday May 1, 2024, Aveyron is no exception. No Agglobus service vehicles will circulate in the Rodez area, and museums will remain closed. In particular the Soulages museum, which communicated on this subject on its networks:
Leisure activities will be limited, but not non-existent. Three screenings are scheduled at the CGR cinema in Rodez for Wednesday. The French comedy “Un p’tit truc en plus” will be shown at 1:30 p.m., 3:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. No other films will be shown.
Maybe this is an opportunity to go for a walk. Hiking trails are not on strike, and some sites like Calmont d’Olt Castle remain open on public holidays.
Several events in Aveyron
At the call of the inter-union, five rallies are planned in Aveyron at 10:30 a.m.:
- Rodez : at the prefecture
- Millau : at the station
- Villefranche-de-Rouergue : At the mayor
- Decazeville : in the public garden
- Saint-Affrique : in the village hall
The large stores that will be open
If stores should remain closed, certain supermarkets will be able to welcome you on Wednesday May 1st. The Intermarché website notes that most of its stores in Aveyron will be closed with the exception of those in Rodez, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, La Fouillade, Marcillac-Vallon, Cransac, Viviez and Flagnac . Closing time is 7:30 p.m.
The Leclerc website indicates that none of its stores in Rodez, Millau or Villefranche-de-Rouergue will be open. As for Carrefour, only four stores will remain open in France, but Aveyron is not part of the list (in Asnières-sur-Seine in Hauts-de-Seine, in Roquebillière in the Alpes-Maritimes, in Villeneuve -d’Ascq in the North, and Viry-Châtillon in Essonne).
Casino supermarkets will remain closed in Decazeville, Laguiole and Millau Capelle. The same goes for the Monoprix in Rodez.
The Rodez market is maintained
As in previous years, when May 1 fell on a Wednesday, the market will be maintained in Rodez.
Fast food stores open
In terms of catering, we must look at the businesses that decide to remain open on a case-by-case basis. We can expect fast food brands like McDonald’s or Burger King to remain accessible on Labor Day.
