Camilla assures that he is “doing very well”

Queen Camilla, who is returning to work after the summer holidays, has given news of King Charles, who is still being treated for cancer.

King Charles “doing very well.” Opening a cancer treatment center in Bath, southwest England, on Tuesday, Queen Camilla gave an update on King Charles III. Responding to a question about the king’s health, Camilla said, “Yes, he is doing very well.”

King Charles is still being treated for cancer, the exact nature of which has not been revealed to the public. Initially withdrawn from public activities after the illness was announced last February, the king resumed his representative work in late March 2024. “I was allowed to come out of my cage,” he joked last May.

On August 20, the sovereign visited Southport, north of Liverpool, where three girls were killed in a knife attack.

Travel to Australia in October

Unlike the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, who announced that she also had cancer and had undergone preventive chemotherapy, the king has not revealed the nature of his treatment.

The sovereign will undertake a trip to Australia and Samoa next October, to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. While this visit is a testament to the king’s good health, Buckingham has nevertheless specified that his programme has been reduced due to his cancer.

“The king’s doctors have advised that such a programme be avoided at this time, in order to give priority to the continued recovery” of Charles III, the palace said last May.
