Alert – The fish, which should not be consumed, was sold in several stores between July 24 and August 19

Mackerel fillets from the Herens brand have been the subject of a massive recall throughout France since Monday. They were distributed by the Biocoop, Vitafrais and Relais vert brands, between July 24 and August 19. The products were potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (the agent responsible for listeriosis), according to the Rappel conso website.

The smoked fish fillets were packaged in vacuum-packed trays or bags. The batches affected by the recall bear the reference “24199016” and have barcodes 3760048920469 or 3760048921053.

Symptoms to watch out for

“People who have consumed this product and who have fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and body aches, are advised to consult their doctor,” states the reminder sheet. It should be noted that listeriosis is a potentially serious disease, with an incubation period of up to eight weeks.
