Bruno Guillon told the Versailles Criminal Court in detail this Wednesday, January 22, about the post-traumatic stress syndrome from which he has suffered since the “home-jacking” he suffered at his home in September 2023. The host attended the trial of five men involved in this violent burglary.
“The victims today are us,” he declared in tears, reports Le Parisien. “They shattered the life of a 14-year-old boy at the time of the incident. He had dreams of studying that he would not achieve because, because of this attack, it became complicated at school. “
“There is not an evening when, when going to bed, my son does not ask me if I have set the alarm,” continues the father of the family,” added his wife. “There isn’t an evening when, when he hears a noise in the house, he doesn’t bang on the partition to ask us what’s going on.”
“They stole my life as a dad because when you raise a child, you are there from a very young age to tell him that we are there to help him and defend him,” Bruno Guillon also detailed. “And there he finds himself with a dad who is naked, sitting on the edge of the bed, his hands tied behind his back, begging the attackers not to hurt his mother or him.”

Angry, the host then addressed the five defendants. “You broke up a family and a couple. We, my wife, my son and I are doomed to be unhappy for the rest of our lives.” He feels the consequences of the burglary even in his professional life:
“I will have to, for the rest of my life, justify myself when I act as a clown behind a microphone and say that it’s my job, while at the same time enduring comments from people who say that it shouldn’t have affected me that much because look, he’s laughing about it, it’s not going away, it’s never going to go away.”
The host was robbed and kidnapped on the night of September 26 to 27, 2023 at his home in Tessancourt-sur-Aubette (Yvelines) with his family. The criminals had stolen jewelry as well as watches and luxury bags, damage estimated at less than 100,000 euros according to an initial estimate.
The two minors involved in the burglary were already sentenced last November for kidnapping and confinement, theft with violence and participation in a criminal association. They were both sentenced to 5 and 3 years’ imprisonment respectively, with part of these sentences suspended.
