In conflict with the Michelin Guide, a famous French chef bans inspectors from his restaurant

From now on, the chef simply does not want to hear about it any more and has therefore taken a radical decision: to prohibit Michelin inspectors from accessing his new restaurant in Megève, The Marc Veyrat Restaurant. “I am 75 years old this year. I don’t want to take exams and be ranked” he explains to CNN.

But will this prevent The Marc Veyrat Restaurant to appear in the next edition of the Michelin Guide? Nothing is less certain, according to the American media, which emphasizes that an inspector could appear anonymously to judge this new establishment. This situation had already occurred for South Korean chef Eo Yun-gwon, who appeared in the 2019 edition of the Seoul guide, despite his request to the contrary.
