Princess Sara of Jordan celebrates her engagement in the presence of King Abdullah II

Prince Faisal of Jordan, faithful brother of King Abdullah II, held an engagement ceremony this week for his daughter, Princess Sara. The Jordanian princess wore a floral Valentino dress to celebrate her love in the presence of members of the Hashemite royal family. Princess Sara gets engaged six months after her twin sister, Princess Aisha.

Princess Sara gets engaged six months after her twin

The good news continues in the family of Prince Faisal bin Hussein. Six months after Princess Aisha, promised to Karim Al Mufti, it is the turn of her twin, Princess Sara, to formalize her relationship with the man who is now her fiancé. Prince Faisal organized an engagement ceremony this Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in honor of the engagement between his daughter Sara and Ali Al Sawaf. King Abdullah II was present at his niece’s engagement.

King Hussein of Jordan had four wives who gave him eleven children. His second wife, Antoinette Gardiner, known today as Princess Muna, is the mother of two girls and two boys. The two boys are the current King Abdullah II and Prince Faisal. Prince Faisal is considered the right-hand man of his older brother, who is a year older. He led a long career at the highest level, within the Jordanian army, from which he retired in 2017. Prince Faisal was married three times. He had four children from his first marriage to Princess Alia, to whom he was married from 1987 to 2008. His second marriage lasted only three years and did not produce any children. He got married to his current wife, Princess Zeina in 2014. Two boys have yet been born from this marriage.

A floral Valentino dress for the engagement of Princess Sara of Jordan

Prince Faisal’s first four children are Princess Ayah (1990), Prince Omar (1993), and twins Sara and Aisha (1997). Princesses Sara and Aisha are now both engaged. Prince Omar is not married, while the eldest, Princess Ayah got married in 2014 and is already the mother of three children. Crown Prince Hussein was present at the engagement party, as was Prince Hassan, uncle of King Abdullah II. Queen Rania was absent due to her trip to the United States with Melania Trump.

“Princess Sarah chose a simple look for her engagement day, combining sophistication and royal elegance”details the prestigious magazine Harper’s Bazaar. She wore a short cream-colored dress embroidered with sequin flowers, which is a piece from the Italian fashion house Valentino. She wore diamond and pearl earrings. She completed her look with a Panthère watch from Cartier and a diamond river bracelet.

The future husband Ali Al Sawaf is of Saudi origin. Born in Jeddah in 1997, he grew up and studied in Jordan. He then joined King’s College London where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He currently works as an engineer in the field of artificial intelligence and software and specializes in providing advanced technology solutions. He shares his wife’s sporting interests, as he is passionate about several sports, such as football and martial arts.
