It’s about illegal immigration, secret organizations, but also the existential aspect of the character and childhood traumas from which we never heal.
The Al Kitab bookseller in Mutuelleville, in Tunis, hosted, on Friday January 3, a presentation and signing session of “Mission Mare Nostrum”, Hakim Bécheur’s first thriller. The meeting was moderated by the Tunisian philosopher and writer Emna Belhadj Yahia.
A trained doctor, in 2012 he already published an essay “White Anger at the Hospital” which he defines as “the chronicles of a committed doctor” then, in 2019, a novel entitled “L’avant- center of the Star” which earned him the Comar d’or 2020 discovery prize. Furthermore, Hakim Bécheur is none other than the son of Ali Bécheur, great novelist French-speaking Tunisian, lawyer at the Court of Cassation and former professor at the Faculty of Law of Tunis, who left us just a few months ago.
