The domestic robotics giant Roborock has just unveiled its latest product at CES 2025 in Las Vegas: the Saros Z70. This new robot vacuum cleaner promises to redefine the standards of automated household cleaning thanks to a major innovation: the OmniGrip.
A robotic arm: a first
The OmniGrip, a world first in the industry, is a five-axis robotic arm capable of unfolding to reach previously inaccessible areas. This technological feat allows the Saros Z70 not only to clean, but also to store small objects such as socks, towels or sandals weighing up to 300 grams.
The heart of the Saros Z70’s intelligence lies in its StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 navigation system. Equipped with 3D Time-of-Flight sensors and RGB cameras, this system offers precise environmental mapping and unrivaled obstacle detection. Using artificial intelligence, the robot can identify up to 108 different types of obstacles, including easily overlooked objects like socks or cables.
In terms of cleaning performance, the Saros Z70 doesn’t do anything by half measures. With a suction power of 22,000 Pa, it effectively tackles dirt on all types of surfaces. Its anti-tangle system and dual rotating mops ensure thorough cleaning, while its ultra-thin 7.98 cm frame allows it to access even the tightest spaces.
The user experience has also been redesigned with an improved Roborock app. The SmartPlan 2.0 system uses AI to automatically adjust cleaning settings based on environment and usage history. Additionally, the Saros Z70 is compatible with the leading voice assistants on the market and will soon be compatible with the Matter 1.4 protocol, allowing for seamless integration into the connected home ecosystem.
Roborock has not forgotten our animal friends. The Saros Z70 includes specific features for pet owners, such as recognition of animals and designated areas, as well as the ability to take photos of your four-legged friends while cleaning.
The Saros Z70 will be available for sale in 2025, at a price that remains to be confirmed. With this new model, Roborock confirms its leading position in the innovation of smart cleaning solutions, promising to further simplify the daily lives of millions of households around the world.
