Klervi Thienpont offers in her show to become aware of the place of French in society.
What relationship do we, Quebecers, have with our language?
Master of Arts, Klervi Thienpont questions linguistic insecurity in Quebec. This pseudo-conference made up of poetic parentheses, memory bubbles, skits, appointments with the psychologist, karaoke, linguistic capsules and other madness gives voice to the artist in her own role as a citizen, actress and designer. If the reflection begins around theatrical language, very quickly the work embraces identity, linguistic precariousness more broadly, and leads to the desire to free oneself from barriers to better appear to the world, free.
Still of his time
The protection of the French language and its survival are at the heart of social debates and political issues. Through language, the show dissects Quebec identity, in its wounds and its emancipation, up to its capacity to open up to others, to be a welcoming land.
Philosophy meeting
To extend this evening of discussions, our mediator will then invite you to continue the discussion in the friendly setting of the Philosophy Meeting. Over herbal tea and biscuits, we will dive into deeper reflection together for approximately 35 minutes.
