His new culinary reality show will be released on January 15 on the streaming platform. In the meantime, the Duchess of Sussex published her first images, and attracted criticism.
To mark the start of the year, Meghan Markle revealed a few days ago the first images from her culinary reality show, to be released on Netflix on January 15. With Love, Meghan (in French: with love, Meghan), shows her cooking, alone or with friends, chatting with professionals, but also harvesting honey from a hive, arranging dishes and flower vases. A production focused on the lifestyle that Prince Harry's wife has been preparing for several months. But its first trailer revealed, the latter already finds itself in the midst of controversy, accused of plagiarism by its detractors.
As reported by several media, including RadarOnline Internet users would have noted some similarities between the recipes proposed by Lilibet and Archie's mother, and dishes already existing on several culinary blogs and Pinterest pages. Without specifying which ones yet – we will await details when the series is released -, some assure that several of its recipes would appear in the American lifestyle magazine First For Women in 2018 and on the popular TikTok account Home Cooks World of 2023. Others point out, more generally, a lack of originality and innovation.
Beekeeping passion
Moreover, several Internet users have also denounced a resemblance with another cooking show, Emma’s Kitchen, broadcast on YouTube and hosted by the Marquise and Chef Emma Weymouth. As well as passions similar to those of his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales is indeed passionate about beekeeping and even had hives installed at Anmer Hall, her country home on the Sandringham estate. “If anyone wants to read between the lines, this is another opportunity for Netflix and Meghan Markle to continue trolling the British monarchy, since all Meghan is trying to do is imitate the English lifestyle, s “dressing and taking care of bees like Catherine,” one user wrote on X.
And others added: “This is yet another thing the King, Prince William and Princess Kate have been doing for years – no, Meghan is not a beekeeper. She copied this from the members of the royal family”; “Do you know who keeps bees? Princess Catherine at her home at Amner Hall. It's one of his passions. Meghan never had an original idea.”
While the Duchess is used to dealing with haters, this time she thought of disabling comments on her Instagram posts. That's already less. Conversely, it is important to note that she also received the support of her fans and her community, with nearly 1.3 million subscribers on Instagram. Residing in California with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, she today seems more hardened in the face of criticism, and shrugs off ill will.
