Sophie Jourlas makes gold with her wire, in L’atelier de Sof in Vignoux-sur-Barangeon

It is a soft and hard material at the same time. Sometimes she sculpts herself, sometimes she models herself. “It can be undone, but when you make a mistake, it’s difficult to get it back completely. » The wire has character, its joints know something about it, and this is what seduced Sophie Jourlas, when she made her first hanger which was to be used to enhance an object that she was about to give as a gift .
It was in 2010. Since then, Sophie has continued to wind her reel of life with this metal, which is today at the heart of her profession as an art craftsman.

In the forest or at a flea market

When she gets up in her house at the end of a long road, in Vignoux-sur-Barangeon, she thinks of her future unique pieces, in 2D or 3D, which will offer a little poetry to whoever adopts them. When she walks in the forest, she finds pieces of wood that will go nicely with it. Sometimes, it’s also in nature, when it’s not at a flea market, that she also finds objects that will twist wonderfully with her threads. When she goes shopping, she often forgets her things because her brain is always buzzing with her metallic ideas.
