the essential
The Gascon René Poques, born in Miélan and having worked in Mirande, has just published his 3rd novel, “Camilla”. His book is on sale in several cities including Marciac.
After two novels already published, René Poques publishes a third novel entitled “Camila”, a fiction based on real facts, a cross between two stories, that of a caregiver and that of a lawyer. In a setting marked by sweetness and melancholy, “Camila” retraces the last moments of a life marked by illness and love. A passionate woman of Spanish origin, she goes through hardships with her partner, while clinging to moments of grace, travel and happy memories. The narrator, consumed by the pain of impending loss, takes him on an intimate journey of hope and resignation. Between tragedy and celebration of life, this story offers a profound reflection on human resilience in the face of the inevitable.
René Poques is a Gascon made up of land, ocean and steep mountains with a journey that is as tormented as it is rich. In turn insurer, associate professor, rugby coach, mayor, mountain man, association leader, golfer and justice conciliator. An oval path…
Three literary prizes
“Our lives are shaped around real or imagined memories, let’s help our weakest, knowing that each of us has unsuspected qualities, we only remember moments of emotion, everything else is nothing”, says René Poques.
