The magician was in this Friday January 3 at the closing of Winter Bonheurs and on January 18 at La Doline.

No rabbit out of the hat, no assistant cut out of a box. During a Ben Aymerich show, you should expect something other than a series of numbers.

The Montpellier resident likes to tell a story to his audience. “I like people to participate without necessarily coming on stage, it’s a moment that can be difficult to experience, he explains. I like the notion of being a spectator and I like to tell things that make sense.”

A passion born in South Aveyron

The Millavois public will have the opportunity to meet him this Friday, at the end of the Winter Bonheurs festival. He will share his passion, born not far from here, in Tournemire. “We were eating with my parents at the restaurant next to the station and a magician went from table to table to do tricks, he remembers. And it’s not so much in the act he presented but in the reaction my parents had. They are not very demonstrative and there they were surprised.”

The passion was therefore born. A school follows to progress and do your first tricks. “I really learned a philosophy there. I started at 13 and as I was a minor, my magic teacher told me to come with him to observe and learn.”

Baccalaureate in hand, he continued this learning in parallel with his studies in communication until his first tours, alone. And what he likes the most? “Let people hang on, he confesses. If I could make things disappear or read people’s minds, I would have changed the course of history a long time ago.”

A notable passage on M6

So, when the public walks through the door of a Ben Aymerich show, they should expect a story that mixes a little mentalism and a little magic. Like his performance on the set of M6, during the show has incredible talent, where he reached the quarter-finals. “It’s a one-man show where I ask a bunch of questions, I tell a story, in a stand-up format.”

The television experience allowed him to assert himself in front of a demanding jury including Eric Antoine, a recognized magician. “It didn’t give me much visibility because magicians come there every year. On the other hand, it gave me credibility as being the magician who appeared on .” And his appearance was noticed, in particular by Eric Antoine who praised his performance on set.

From this performance, honed in a comedy club, his show was born. “After the show I was contacted by a theater and it took me a year to do my show and get what I wanted. In Millau it will be one of my first dates.” After closing the Bonheurs d’hiver festival this Friday, January 3, it will be at the La Doline theater on January 18. “In a room that I like, with an intimate atmosphere”, describes the Montpellier. The room offers a large part of discussion and public participation. Which is what makes his creation so special, halfway between magic and mentalism.
