Tuesday, December 31, in Auxillac, the Auberge du Moulin was the scene of a somewhat special New Year’s Eve. The new manager, Colline Perrier, invited storytellers and musicians for an old-fashioned evening around the fire.
Here there are no fools or endless meals, just a steaming pot of soup and a massive table to accommodate the dishes prepared by all the guests.
The evening began with a meal shared around the counter and a few drinks, discussions between already regulars and newcomers from the four corners of France.
Then volunteers sang, read texts from their pens or told lovely stories on the open stage.
After this moment of sharing, the guests were able to get to know each other better and continue to taste the dishes brought.
The stage was then enchanted by the talent of Clara Madec and Bernard Barbier who, for more than an hour, took their audience on a journey with great poetry and humor.
The party continued with the traditional countdown and resolutions drawn from the hat. To close the party, a small group formed around the piano, to start the year with sharing and music.
