TNA is still facing a wave of contract terminations within its ranks. We are talking in particular about Jordynne Grace who we could see make her debut during the next women’s Royal Rumble. If the future of the head of the women’s division remains uncertain, TNA was able to re-sign AJ Francis for 1 year. A great move as the former WWE had taken a prominent place at iMPACT!
Precisely, the main interested party was passing through the Nick Beasley Show where he gave more details on the reasons behind this new signing:
“I’m happy here. The goal was always to re-sign with TNA, we just had to come to an agreement. A year ago I was the guy no one saw coming back into the ring and now I’m in the main event, a contender for the world title, I do matches with the Hardys, I even did a main event in PLE TNA gave me everything I could hope for. stay? And I would like to work at NXT because of the connection they have with them I’m being used and it’s showing me how good I can be and that’s thanks to TNA giving me this opportunity.
It’s tempting to go everywhere […] Really, who wouldn’t join WWE right now: they’re about to be on Netflix. But right away I’m in TNA and I’m showing that I’m a main eventer. If I went back to WWE, whether it was RAW or SmackDown, I wouldn’t be in the main event.”
AJ Francis was fired from WWE in September 2023. The latter does well in the lead, it is in fact probably wiser to be a main eventer in TNA than to risk being permanently in the hot seat in WWE.
