A star, Kings and… an unexpected surprise at the corner of Place Carnot! Who would have thought that the Three Wise Men, these mythical figures of Christian tradition, would make a detour through Marseillan before reaching Bethlehem?
And yet, this Friday January 3, the eve of the Epiphany, it was on Place Carnot that their majesties made a remarkable appearance. Accompanied by their faithful camels and escorted by a troupe of dazzling artists, the Three Wise Men transformed the center of the city into a veritable tale from the Arabian Nights. Acrobats and musicians dazzled the spectators with oriental dances, while laughter and applause erupted from the crowd. A festive atmosphere which continued until the crèche where, as tradition dictates, a king cake was shared. The children, amazed, took part in workshops making little paper stars, adding a participatory touch to the party. But the event held another surprise. Laetitia Hallyday, accompanied by her grandmother Elyette Boudou aka Mamie Rock, was seen in the local pastry shop Entremets et chocolats.
The two women, charmed by the excitement, posed amiably alongside one of the Three Wise Men, creating a suspended moment between modernity and tradition. Marseillan shone brightly that evening… and with the most beautiful of our stars.
