[EN IMAGES] New Year in Quebec: thousands of locals and tourists celebrate to the tunes of the smiling Bottine

The year 2025 started in style in Quebec City with the “toboggan” festivities.

160,000 festival-goers took part in the 5th edition of the slide festival at Place George-V and at the National Assembly space in Quebec, a record attendance for the event.

“Festival-goers’ enthusiasm for Toboggan continues to grow year after year, confirming its place as a flagship winter event in Quebec. With this fifth edition, we welcomed a large number of visitors, in a festive atmosphere, enriched by redesigned comfort zones to better meet the needs of our customers,” declared Nicolas Racine, Chairman and CEO of BLEUFEU, in a press release.

Different shows of traditional and electronic music took place over the three days of the festival, from December 29 to 31, culminating with the classic countdown to the tunes of La Bottine Souriante. At the Sirius XM Cube, Belgian DJ MTTN offered the last performance of the year. Other artists, such as Kaïn, bbno$ and DJ Jonas Blue, also played on the various stages of the festival.
