Taken from blockbusters, comics or new ones, new series will be legion again this year.
New, new with old, modern, antique… This year again, channels and platforms will compete to compete with social networks for our free time.
Here are the most promising series for 2025. Some are arriving very quickly, as early as January. Others do not yet have a release date.
• Cult: 2Be3
After a stripping dive behind the scenes of Loft Storythe first French reality TV show, Prime Video intends to tell the story of the French boyband, 2Be3, formed by Filip Nikolic, Adel Kachermi and Frank Delay in the mid-1990s.
2Be3 is part of a collection designed by Prime to “highlight” ordinary people who experienced sudden fame and have “shaped today’s society”. This was the case of the “lofteurs”, the participants of Loft Story, and it is also that of the three young people who experienced success with the hit Leave one day.

• Asterix & Obelix: The Battle of the Leaders
Twenty-three years after the box office Cleopatra MissionAlain Chabat returns to the world of Uderzo and Goscinny for an animated series produced by Netflix and inspired by the album The Battle of the Leaderspublished in 1966.
While a Gallic chief won over to the cause of Rome, Aplusbégalix, challenges Abraracourcix in a battle of chiefs, the druid Panoramix loses his memory and the recipe for the magic potion after receiving a menhir on the head. In the event of defeat, the Gallic village will fall under the control of the Roman invaders…
On Netflix, first half of 2025
• A Knight of the Seven Kingdom
What a spin off of House of the dragonseries itself prequel to Game of Thronesis located between the events recounted in House of the dragon and the history of Game of Thrones. A Knight of the seven kingdom is based on the novels of George RR Martin, Tales of Dunk and Egg. The series follows the adventures of a naive but courageous young knight “Dunk”, Ser Duncan the Great, ancestor of Brienne of Tarth, and “Egg”, his squire friend.

• Alien: Earth
The saga imagined by Ridley Scott in 1979 is about to welcome a new avatar, in the form of an eight-episode series with Timothy Olyphant (Santa Clarita Diet), Alex Lawther (The end of the f***ing world) et Sydney Chandler (Don’t worry Darling). The horrible creature drawn by HR Giger is back aboard a spaceship which crashes on Earth.

• The Pitt
He was left as a young intern in EMERGENCIES in the mid-1990s. Here is Noah Wyle (ex-Doctor Carter) again as a seasoned doctor in a new hospital series located in a Pittsburgh establishment.

• Merteuil
After the Valmont by Milos Forman in 1989 and Dangerous Liaisons by Stephen Frears in 1988, the epistolary novel by Choderlos de Laclos was adapted into a series with Anamaria Vartolomei (Cécile de Volanges), Diane Kruger (Madame de Merteuil) and Vincent Lacoste (Vicomte de Valmont).
We can also discover a wonderful theatrical adaptation at the Comédie des Champs Elysées in Paris, until April 27, 2025, with Delphine Depardieu and Valentin de Carbonnières.

• The Cheetah
The novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa will meet the same fate. After the unforgettable adaptation by Luchino Visconti with Burt Lancaster, Claudia Cardinale and Alain Delon, The Cheetah returns to series with Kim Rossi Stuart and Deva Cassel.
On Netflix in 2025
• Cats’ eyes
After the live action series carried by Constance Labbé (Sylia), Camille Lou (Tam) and Claire Romain (Alexia), Cat’s eyes, the famous manga by Tsukasa Hōjō will benefit from a new animated adaptation.
This new series will follow the plot of the manga: three sisters who run a café by day join forces at night to steal priceless treasures. We still don’t know the exact broadcast date, but the series will be available in 2025.

• Lucky Luke
Alban Lenoir, hero of many action films, lends his silhouette to the fastest shooter in the West. Filmed in Spain, this 8-episode series is written by Mathieu Leblanc and Thomas Mansuy and directed by Benjamin Rocher. It will tell the adventures of Lucky Luke and Louise, an 18-year-old girl “as prickly as a cactus and more unpredictable than a rabid coyote” whose mother has mysteriously disappeared.
On Disney+, sometime in 2025
• Blade Runner 2099
In project since 2022, this series With Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer (revealed by Euphoria) inspired by the universe of Blade Runner takes place 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049sequel to Ridley Scott’s first film, directed by Denis Villeneuve. Filming of the series has just finished at the end of December 2024 and Blade Runner 2099 should be released later this year.
On Prime Video in 2025
• The Disappeared from the station
This mini-series with Mélanie Doutey, Hugo Becker, Patrick Timsit, and Camille Razat returns to the case of the missing women from Perpignan, in the mid-1990s.
Between 1995 and 2001, the disappearance of four young women, some of whom were found horribly mutilated, in the Perpignan station area, terrorized the Pyrénées-Orientales prefecture.
