This year, which films, music albums, novels, comics or even video games delighted you the most? There were almost three times as many of you to answer this question as in 2023 and, thanks to your votes and your testimonials, we were able to draw up a ranking of your favorites.
At the top of the ranking of the best films of 2024 are two novel adaptations. On the first step of the podium, Le Comte de Monte Cristo succeeds the Palme d’or 2023, Anatomy of a fall. The adaptation of the novel by Alexandre Dumas, with Pierre Niney in the title role, received more than 1,000 “favorite” votes: “a monument”, for many of you. The second part of Duneadapted from Frank Herbert’s novel by Denis Villeneuve, takes second place in your ranking. Many of you have praised the “exceptional beauty” of a “saga which will mark the history of cinema”.

Special mention to Mercyby Alain Guiraudie, who enters the ranking at 27e place, even though it had not been put to a vote. Nearly 100 people added it manually, accusing us of “very curious oversight” for one “jubilant human fable”.
Finally, two highly anticipated American blockbusters do not appear in the ranking. Joker: madness for twoTodd Phillips, et Megalopolis, by Francis Ford Coppola, finished well last, with a negative total of points. You regret that the « chanson [ait pris] too much space » in the first, while a reader saw in the second “a real purge”.
