Roxane Stojanov was named principal dancer of the Paris National Opera on December 28, 2024 following the performance of Paquitaby Pierre Lacotte, which she performed on the set of the Opéra Bastille. His appointment comes, as is customary, on the proposal of José Martinez, director of Dance, and was announced on stage by Alexander Neef, general director of the Opera.
Born in 1995 in North Macedonia, Roxane Stojanov showed exceptional talent for dance very early on. After starting her training at the age of eight in her hometown, she went to Brussels, where she continued her studies before joining the dance school of the Paris National Opera in 2007. Engaged in 2013 in the corps of ballet, she quickly climbed the ranks, becoming coryphée in 2016, subject in 2018, and principal dancer in 2022. (DG)
