Faustine Bollaert and Maxime Chattam are not exactly in the mood to celebrate. Three months ago, the couple, married since August 2012, lost a member of their tribe, a dear friend who still had his whole life ahead of him. Guillaume, that was his first name, died at the beginning of October at the age of 51.
Saturday December 28, 2024, Guillaume celebrated his 52nd birthday and it was with great emotion that Maxime Chattam paid tribute to him. The 48-year-old writer, whose latest novel Prime Time is a success, put a few words on a photo of his friend with a smile on his face and a birthday cake in his hand. “It should have been your birthday today. Fuck death, I’ll pretend you’re here. I’ll talk to you. He’s Guillaume, a great guy. And if you pass me in the street and I’m talking alone, I’m not crazy. I’m only sad. This song is for you my Boutou“, he wrote. The song in question is the one that Maxime Chattam added to his story, namely So Far Away from the metal band Avenged Sevenfold.
This same Saturday, December 28, 2024, Faustine Bollaert also took to her Instagram account to pay tribute to her great friend. The French’s favorite presenter had a heavy, very heavy heart…”You would have been 52 today. We miss you a little more every day. Boutou forever“, wrote the host of It starts today on France 2 which also chose a photo of Guillaume with a smile.
Almost three months since Faustine Bollaert and Maxime Chattam lost their friend Guillaume
It was on October 6 that Faustine Bollaert announced the death of Guillaume on Instagram. “Guillaume’s heart stopped this afternoon. And with it a part of mine died away. Guillaume was 51 years old. He left in a month“, she first wrote before adding: “And he leaves us all, his family and friends, stunned, in infinite sorrow. Deep within us.“The mother of Abbie (born in July 2013) and Peter (born in July 2013) then had words for Guillaume’s widow and for their children: “I think of his wonderful daughters Zélie @zeldeau and Maylis @mlolikesclouds. I think of his admirable wife @maudcavalier but also of Daphné, Thaïs, Swann and Amaury. I think of Max, of Pierre, of Vincent, of Christian, of Kevin, of Seb, of the Freds… and of our whole tribe… the big ones and our little ones.” “We loved each other so much. I’m going to miss you so much my Boutou. I already miss you infinitely”, she concluded.
A few days later, Faustine Bollaert went to Guillaume’s funeral, an ordeal that she did not go through alone but with the support of her many fans.
