The opening night of Lavelanet Culture set the tone at the beginning of October. Since then, nine quality shows have taken place on stage. The Marie-Christine Barrault room, full as an egg, gave a standing ovation to the three singer-comedians of the group Les Divalala during the opening evening of the Lavelanetian cultural season.
Franck Farez, deputy mayor in charge of culture, warned: “This 2024-2025 season will once again be the showcase of our city, it will shine throughout the territory and beyond its limits.” And he paid tribute to his predecessors in these terms: “For more than 40 years, successive municipal teams have chosen a quality culture accessible to all. Committed and assumed choices, despite constant reductions in funding from the ‘State.” A bet held even before the confectioners’ truce, if we judge by the attendance at the shows, the degree of satisfaction of the different audiences, and the diversity of the works presented.
Two wild musical evenings took place with “Caribe” by Ana Carla Maza Trio, in November, and “Jubilä” by Leïla Martial, multi-toned vocalist, in December. Radiant, the virtuoso Cuban cellist ignited her audience with an energetic mix of jazz and Latin rhythms. As for Leïla Martial, both clown and diva, she delivered an explosive performance.
The program for the 2nd part of the season available
The program concocted by Dahbia Bélhacène included a good dose of theater with “Galeano, sur le fil des mots” by the Cimi Mondes company and “Le rafteau de la Méduse”, a show eligible for the Molières, with a formidable interpretation by Anne Cangelosi.
As for Cie Rouge Les Anges, it amazed the young audience with “Petit detail”. Finally, the Tolosa Choir concert at the Lavelanet church and the broadcasts on the big screen attracted audiences who loved classical music, opera and ballet.
The program for the second part of the season is available on lavelanet-culture.com. Prices range from 12 to 16 euros (reduced rate of 9 to 13 euros) depending on the shows. Price for young people up to 18 years old: 7 euros. Several subscription plans are also offered.
