Samsung plans to expand the availability of its Good Lock app to more countries and introduce it to the Google Play Store with the next version of One UI 7, based on Android 15. So far, this app, already available in One UI, was limited to certain regions. Good Lock, exclusively designed for Galaxy smartphones, is actually an aggregator of personalization applications.
Samsung's Good Lock app is designed for users looking for advanced customization options on their Galaxy devices. It allows you to make in-depth changes to things like the home screen, lock screen, and keyboard. The app also supports third-party apps, such as enabling features on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 cover screen (test).
Currently, Good Lock is only accessible in certain countries and must be downloaded through Samsung's Galaxy Store. This restriction has been a major inconvenience for users outside of supported regions. However, this will change with the release of One UI 7.
In a recent post on the Samsung Community forum, a developer from the Good Lock team confirmed that the app will be rolling out globally with One UI 7. Additionally, Good Lock will be available on the Google Play Store, in more from the Galaxy Store.
Last year, an early access version of Good Lock appeared briefly on the Play Store, but was later removed. With its global availability confirmed, Samsung is set to bring the app to a wider audience, allowing more users to access its extensive customization features.
What’s new at Good Lock in 2025?
Samsung would not only limit itself to expanding the availability of Good Lock. With One UI 7, the manufacturer also plans to introduce new tools and applications to the Good Lock ecosystem. These new features will be added to more than a dozen applications already present in the beta version of One UI 7.
Good Lock would also benefit from a visual overhaul, including redesigned shortcuts, a modernized layout and a refreshed user interface. Significant improvements to individual modules, as well as the search function and filters, are also on the cards.
While Samsung has yet to officially confirm the One UI 7 release date, it is widely anticipated that this announcement will take place during the Galaxy Unpacked event planned for the end of the month, which will coincide with the launch of the Galaxy series S25.
What aspects of the user interface would you like to customize further on your Galaxy device? Are you already using Good Lock? If so, which modules do you use the most?
