The day after its shootout defeat against Pardubice for its entry into the Spengler Cup, Friborg raised its head. He won 6-4 in front of Kärpät Oulu.
Led three times by the Finns, the Friborgs showed real strength of character to achieve a victory which will be good for morale and which gives them a chance to qualify directly for the semi-finals. On the condition that Pardubice gets its feet wet on Saturday afternoon against Kärpät Oulu.
After a laborious first third period during which Loïc Galley did not have the right role with responsibility for two of the three opposing goals, Fribourg-Gottéron had the immense merit of not giving up, like Kevin Nicolet , author of the 3-3 for his first goal of the season and who obtained the first star. The turning point of the match came in the 46th minute. Four against five due to a match penalty inflicted on Marcus Sörensen, Jacob de la Rose scored 5-3 to give his colors some air.
