Despite unpredictable weather, the Christmas concert organized by the Patrimoine en Couserans association attracted a large audience, which was captivated by the quality of its performance.
The church of Saint-Girons vibrated this Saturday evening to the sound of the sublime harmonies of the Voces Collium ensemble, led by choir director Simon Viaud. Under the stone vaults, the atmosphere was full of meditation and beauty. The central work of the program, “The Seven Last Words of Christ”, literally captivated the audience, notably thanks to a finale enhanced by the organ playing of the young Milo Brutus.
Simon Viaud, conductor of the ensemble, confides: “It was only the second time that we sang this work. It is still fresh for us, but that’s precisely what makes it so charming. The weather conditions, almost Dantesque, added a particular energy, a kind of electricity to the air. Then, this final adoration with Milo It brought a celestial side that I will not soon forget.
