Nolwenn Leroy accused of cheating in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
“Incident on the set of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire between Nolwenn, Baffie and Arthur”, headlines the journalist on his Twitter account (accessible only after validation). Based on the testimonies of people present in the public, a clarification would have taken place on the question for 36,000 euros. Not knowing how to answer, the pair decides to use the Vox populi joker allowing someone from the audience to say the answer. But this one was not the right one. People in the audience, and in particular those close to the singer, would then have encouraged her not to validate the response. Moreover, the singer would have turned towards the audience several times to obtain information. The singer would then have been reframed by the production.
Nolwenn Leroy and Laurent Baffie annoyed by Artur’s attitude
After reflection, and given the strange atmosphere on set, the pair finally decide not to risk giving a wrong answer. Except that, the increase to 24,000 euros having been validated, Nolwenn Leroy and Laurent Baffie had no risk in attempting an answer! If they made a mistake, they didn’t lose anything. Information that Arthur only gave them too late. “Did you do that to keep the 12,000 euros and avoid giving too big a check at the end or what? That’s not nice, Arthur.“, would then have launched Laurent Baffie. The pair therefore leaves the set, visibly annoyed.
Arthur restores the truth and denies
Following this information, Arthur requested a right of reply from Clément Garin. The host gives his version of the facts and the rest of the story… “There was indeed a technical problem, which meant that I forgot to say a sentence at the 24,000 level. [euros]”, Arthur explains. And to continue: “I admitted my mistake and had Nolwenn and Baffie come back and put on their makeup at 11 p.m. The pair would therefore have returned to the set to propose an answer at 36,000 euros. “Nolwenn didn’t cheat. On the contrary, she was very nice to agree to come back for a mistake on my part.” And to conclude: “Zero controversy. A little hiccup during filming, it happens.” A version validated by Nolwenn Leroy who took over Arthur’s right of response in his Instagram story by adding: “Thank you Arthur for setting the record straight.”
