The judicial auction of the Auberge À la Bonne Idea, a former gastronomic institution in the Oise, in Saint-Jean-aux-Bois, “had a particular color“, reports Maître Caroline Brunel-Dejean de la Bâtie, responsible for this. The person who was appointed by the Compiègne commercial court to carry out the inventory as part of the recovery and liquidation of the establishment, then the organization of the auction, also knew the establishment. The sales took place in two stages, Wednesday December 18 and Thursday December 19, with many people coming to try to acquire a piece of this institution. The 580 lots were sold after ten hours of sales spread over two days.
This Thursday was dedicated to furniture related to the kitchen. This day, dedicated to “tableware“, met “a great success with individuals, but not only“, reports Maître Caroline Brunel-Dejean de la Bâtie. They were able to bid on small lots, among the 300 presented. The bottles of wine and the kitchen equipment were more oriented towards professionals.
During this first day of sales, it was a rolling trolley, with two trays, in wood and silver metal that stood out. It was won by a buyer “who bid a lot. It went €1,000“, based on an estimate of €300.
During the second day, the sales of the License IV and the stove were the important lots of this Friday, December 19. The auction of the stove was suspended this Thursday, before resuming, while it was determined how it would be dismantled. “It also came at a very good price.“, underlines the justice commissioner. At the hotel level, “there were many buyers who fought hard“.
In conclusion, Maître Caroline Brunel-Dejean of the Buildingwho cannot yet communicate the figures, shares his satisfaction at the end of these two days. “The sale far exceeded expectations“and a”at least multiplied by three“the initial estimates.”We felt that everyone wanted to take away a little piece of the institution’s history.“
This Friday, December 20, the last batches will be delivered. The place will then be completely empty and the keys will be returned to the lessor.
