In 50 BC, “Gaul was occupied by the Romans. All ? No ! A village populated by die-hard Gauls still resists the invader…” The famous characters of Uderzo and Goscinny are preparing to return to the small screen, that of Netflix.
The streaming platform will broadcast the new series in early 2025 Asterix & Obelix: The Battle of the Bosses. A project produced by the animation studio TAT Productions based in Toulouse, and created by Alain Chabat. Here are the first images.

Panix in the Gallic village!
The famous Gaulish village manages to repel the Romans thanks to a magic potion that gives them supernatural strength. A potion of which only the Druid has the secret. But then, when he finds himself knocked out by an unfortunate blow from a menhir, he completely loses his memory. And it’s panic! The villagers find themselves left to their own devices in the face of the power of Rome…
Especially since it is at this precise moment that the Gallic chief Abraracourcix is challenged by Aplusbegalix for a fight… Will he fall from his shield?
A reference to Mission Cleopatra
The scenario – which is built around five episodes of around forty minutes – will remind fans of the story of Uderzo and Goscinny’s 7th album: The Battle of the Leaders released in 1966.
Discreet reference to Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatrathe trailer concludes with an image of Julius Caesar reenacting one of the scenes from Alain Chabat’s hit film released in 2001.
In addition to directing, the actor also gave his voice to the series, as well as other names in French cinema like Gilles Lellouche et Anaïs Demoustier.
A series made in Toulouse
The Pink City will have reason to be particularly proud of the project since it is 100% made in Toulouse. “When Netflix asks you, it’s hard to say no,” reacted Jean-François Tostione of three founders of the animation studio, which has already enjoyed great success with The Jungle Aces or even Pattie and the Wrath of Poseidon.
