It was the writer Sophie Fontanel who opened the festivities by unrolling a story about women authors: a nod to the location chosen for this dinner, teeming with books by these women. She then passed the torch to Antoine de Caunes, the master of ceremonies. Around 11 p.m., Carla Bruni made a surprise appearance, microphone in hand to perform her songs within the confines of this sublime library. The guests were able to sing and dance to “L’amoureuse”, “Someone told me” and “Miss you”, the former first lady’s flagship songs.
