From Thursday, November 28 to Saturday, December 30, the Bar-Bars Culture Festival, supported by the Bar-Bars Culture Collective, returns for its 22nd edition. With more than 240 establishments mobilized across and around twenty events in the city of Toulouse alone, this series of meetings offers an eclectic program, which ranges from concerts to exhibitions, including theater and dance.

These evenings take place in places “as fragile as they are essential”, namely cafes, bars and restaurants which are also places of openness and cultural discoveries. In Toulouse, we find the Delicatessen, the Boudu Pont, the Évasion, the Taquin, Ô Bohem, chez Ginette, the Breughel, the Bear’s House, the Autruche and even the Astronef… Intimate addresses, and above all activists cultural, which cultivate artistic expressions as much as conviviality.

The Bar-Bars Festival, which is sponsored this year by Philippe Katerine and Victor Lemaure, icon of the queer scene, aims to promote this network of establishments. At the national level, it brings together thousands of scheduled artists and nearly 150,000 festival-goers each year, in hundreds of venues. The eponymous Collective has set itself several missions, including that of locally structuring “cafés and cultural clubs” in order to develop the dissemination of a local culture and to participate in the artistic diversity of the territories.

So if you want to participate in this dynamic, you will be spoiled for choice in Toulouse between Thursday and Saturday, with mainly concerts, in very varied styles. Among the highlights, we remember the opening evening this Thursday at Taquin, which will also mark the start of the Toulouse Django Festival, with figures from gypsy jazz: Tchiquito Lambert, Adrien Tarraga, Benjamin Bobenrieth. The same evening, singer SHA will rock Ô Bohem with her captivating voice and her jazz, house and reggaeton influences.

Still in the musical department, there will still be the duo Marcel (soul pop r & b) on Friday at Bear’s House, the violinist Gwen accompanied by Dj Highstyle on Friday still at l’Autruche, the group Djé Balèti, a mix of Occitan and African sound of the 70s, Saturday at the Astronef, the Black Meadow (70s rock, blues, heavy) the same evening at the mini-brasserie le Local, in Amidonniers. On the theater side, in a completely different register, the students of the Grand i Théâtre invite you to a “free form” of improvisation on Thursday at the Boudu Pont.
