Karine Le Marchand would have tried libertinism: she explains what prevents her from taking the plunge

For fifteen years, Karine Le Marchand has been the number one matchmaker on French television with the show Love is in the meadow. Thanks to her, dozens of couples were formed between farmers and city dwellers and many children were born.

On screen, the seduces everyone with her naturalness and her humor, not hesitating to punctuate her dialogues with the candidates with bursts of laughter and naughty jokes.

Today, at 56, Karine has decided to add a new string to his bow professional. Next Monday, December 9, on M6, the documentary will be broadcast The French, love and sexwhich she produces and presents. This film analyzes our habits and behaviors on the heart side… and on the pillow side. And wonders about everything that has changed over the past five decades.

Karine Le Marchand surprised by her discoveries

Asked in Tele-Leisurethis woman of character confided that she was shaken by what her compatriots confided to her. First of all, she had confirmation that the love model of past generations is outdated. “You have to be lucid: heteronormative happiness as it was sold to us, in the form of fairy tales, has never worked. It worked as long as women could not divorce, they did not work and they were forced to play the role of housewife, but they were the big losers“, explains the mother of Alya, aged 20.

Criticizing the “patriarchy“, The French, love and sex notes “what we no longer love in the same way“because of several reasons:”THE dating applications, the #Metoo movement and the notion of consent, the end of the injunction of religion, the rise of individualism and the demand for happiness that this induces.

People, asexuality, bisexuality everything has changed and this leaves Karine Le Marchand amazed: “Today, everything is reinvented and evolves throughout our lives. That surprised me a lot! […] When I came home in the evening after filming, I asked myself: 'Could I live with a woman? Would I assume?' It's a documentary that questions a lot about oneself. I'm much more open-minded now than when I started the project.

And besides, the host admits to being completely confused: “I don't really know what I like anymore!” she smiles. Honest, she even confides in Tele-Leisure that she thought of new horizons: “I asked myself the question of libertinism. If I wasn't famous, I would try!“, she admits. Too bad for her. Fame also has its little drawbacks…
