The festivals Music in the forecourtborn in 2017 at the foot of the Town Hall of Bayeux (Calvados), will experience its seventh edition on Saturdays July 13, 20 and 27, 2024 and Saturday August 3, 2024.

The formula remains the same: three groups perform on stage during each evening (4 for the closing night). “These are 100% local groups,” specifies Emmanuelle Leclercpresident of Music blockthe association organizing the festival.

The aim of Zique au parvis is to liven up the city during the summer period and to promote contemporary music.

Call for volunteers

This seventh edition is focused on the month of July, the fault of the lack of volunteers. The president of Musikoblokos therefore launches an appeal to good souls who can make themselves known without delay by email to [email protected].

On the programming side, it’s rock! A style engraved in Zique’s DNA at the square. But the festival wants to be eclectic despite this dominance. “We notably have Naka, a reggae group from Caen who will perform at the opening of the evening of Saturday July 20,” announces Emmanuelle Leclerc who admits to having favored the groups who work on their repertoire at the blockhouse on rue Saint-Quentin, HQ from the Association. This reinforced concrete tool allows you to rehearse 7 days a week, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. This is particularly the case of the groups The Mysty Heads, Parasite, Men in the Box and Underground, a rock group formed by Bayeux high school students and which will have its first stage and will certainly count on the support of the public!

A note of solidarity

Music creates a connection. The public is not mistaken and many of them take to the steps of the square for a 3-hour show. If the refreshment bar is run by Musikoblokos, the association also wants to be supportive.

“The sweet and savory snack stand will be run alternately by the Secours Populaire de Bayeux and the Caen branch of the Fight Against Hunger association who will leave with the recipe. »
