In a letter addressed to parishioners last year, Mr. Gigantiello expressed his regrets, confiding that he had made an “error of judgment”. However, he did not wish to respond to the allegations which led to his dismissal.

In view of the facts with which he is accused, Jamie Gigantiello was dismissed from his pastoral functions and was replaced by Witold Mroziewski. However, the spokesperson for the diocese, Adriana Rodriguez, made it clear: “It will always be possible for him to say mass with the authorization of his replacement.”
