The Evian Meetings under the sign of tributes

The construction site of the future Source vive room and the new light wooden buildings of the lodges adjoining La Grange au Lac illustrate the state of mind of the new Rencontres d’Evian: a real work in progress. Thanks to the passion and commitment of patron Aline Foriel-Destezet, the dream of the Mélèzes project is gradually becoming a reality. Renaud Capuçon, at the artistic helm, and Alexandre Hémardinquer, at the executive direction, are over the moon. The expansion of the venue is progressing briskly and the first Rencontres concert thrilled the audience, birch trees and chandeliers.

The mark of this second vintage of the musician and organizer? The tribute. The name might seem nostalgic. Not with Renaud Capuçon, who makes it an affectionate companionship. The disappearance in the middle of work of the acoustician Albert Yaying Xu had the appearance of a facetious celebration. And in the violinist’s presentation speech, the absence of Daniel Barenboïm, prevented by illness, was transformed into a tutelary and friendly presence.
