Actu : Could you introduce yourself?

Frank Cotty : I am originally from Angers and have now lived in Nantes for 15 years. I love the city of Angers but I found it a bit small for partying, I’m a night owl, I like cities where you can go out on Monday evening for a drink.

Where does this taste for music come from?

F.C. : I have always been passionate about music but at first I didn’t think you could make a living from it. When you want to become a singer, you first think of TV or radio but I later learned that you could also host evenings in campsites. I understood that the job existed and I did it. Today, I am a songwriter, I also write songs. I also wrote the last album by Magalie Vaé (winner of the music show Star Academy 5 Editor’s note). My parents were big fans of French variety, I was always immersed in it. I also lived in Wales and discovered English rock. I love the language of music because it is universal. We pick up a guitar and we can dialogue without speaking the same language, it transmits emotions.

You will participate in France Has Incredible Talent. How did you discover the show and why participate?

F.C. : I watched her a lot. We often see numbers passing through the networks, French as well as those from other countries. I was spotted by the production who contacted me. I imagine they must have seen me on the networks.

What will you present to the jurors?

F.C. : I’m not going to sing. I’m going to present one of the acts that I have on my YouTube channel. On this channel, I talk about plagiarism in music or the hidden meaning of nursery rhymes, telling anecdotes. There, for the show I will present a number on auditory hallucinations, that is to say foreign songs in which we believe we hear French words, in humorous form, the aim being to make the jury and the public laugh. .

How do you feel before your visit?

F.C. : A little stressed but that’s normal. I am used to the stage and the public but here I will have four judges in front of me. I will present a number which will be followed by a judgment and positive or negative comments.

You have already participated in this type of show, why participate in this one in particular?

F.C. : I have actually already done shows: Don’t forget the words with Nagui and Everyone wants to take their place. I hope to do it again! I’m doing this because I live largely from social networks, it will bring me more visibility. I hope people will enjoy my act and decide to go see what I’m doing next. I also want to land contracts that will allow me to continue my job.
