This Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Rouen was decorated with glitter, false eyelashes and stilettos. The Drag Race queens were indeed performing at the Zénith.
A few hours before the show, we joined Délice d’Orge J to follow her in some rather special preparations. The young performer from Rouen actually dreamed of going on stage with the drag queens from season 3 of the phenomenon show.
Look at this portrait of Elsa Gavinet and Olivier Flavien:
Without the rhinestones and sequins, Délice d’Orge J is first and foremost Clément. But only for a time, because at the end of the preparation, he is transfigured for the benefit of a tall blonde with makeup. on point : “Clément is someone who is quite shy in society. When I transform into Délice, it allows me to exteriorize, to experience my feminine side a little more“, confided the artist.
Since Drag Race was on TV, people have come out of their rooms to really make a living from their art, from their desire to transform into women. They were already there, they existed. They simply didn’t dare leave their room for fear of the gaze of others, of judgment, of being hit in the street… Drag Race allowed a lot of open-mindedness.

Délice covers herself in an unstructured black and gold dress with shoulder pads, the kind that naturally catches the eye. Its objective: “to be seen and hope to go on stage, to have a lip sync battle between queens“. “Lip sync is playback. We act as if we are singing the music. What you need to do is know the words well. Especially on tonight’s song, you really have to send“, she assured us.
The song: Freed From Desire, by Gala, a 1997 classic that still ignites the dance floor in the four corners of France and elsewhere. “For me, this song really relates to the LGBT community. It allows you to free yourself, to have fun, to gain self-confidence, to accept who you are, to not care about how others look at you.“
Freeing herself is what Délice d’Orge J managed to do, who shared, on Instagram, this great moment on the Drag Race France stage. She will have left the Zénith with a photo alongside Nicky Doll, a karaoke microphone and the feeling of a dream coming true.
