Daniel Hope will take over on November 1, 2025. This 50-year-old violinist, who has been performing as an international soloist for 35 years, has many other hats: he directs the New Century Chamber Orchestra in San Francisco, is artistic director of the Frauenkirche in Dresden and presides over the Beethoven House in Bonn.

Since 2004, Daniel Hope has also designed and directed festivals and concert series of great musical and thematic diversity. He is committed to contemporary and 20th century music. Concert recordings of works by Alban Berg, Benjamin Britten and Dimitri Shostakovich are part of his discography.

A commitment tinged with politics

With his commitment to music written in the Theresienstadt concentration camp, his work always has a political connotation. Daniel Hope is also the author or co-author of four books and has made a name for himself among the public as a columnist for German magazines Cicero et Crescendo.

Christoph Müller directed the festival for more than twenty years and notably set up the academy during this period. This year’s edition, its penultimate, will take place from July 12 to August 31.
