The Garorock festival opens its doors this Thursday for four days of concerts and parties. Here is a list of tips and tricks to enjoy the event in the best conditions.
We’re getting closer to the big day! From this Thursday afternoon, hundreds of people will gather at the gates of the Filhole plain. Tent, backpacks, provisions, most of the people in the starting blocks in front of the gates will be preparing to rush towards the best pitches of the campsite which will accommodate, this year, nearly 40,000 campers. Sardines planted, mattresses inflated for the bravest, all these beautiful people will be operational for these four days of celebration and music.

First thing to know is the opening time of the large arch which leads to the area of concerts, rides and food stands. For Thursday June 27, meet from 4:30 p.m., Friday June 28 from 5:30 p.m., Saturday June 29 at 5 p.m. and Sunday June 30, doors will open at 3:30 p.m. To meet in this vast site, the Garorock application remains the festival-goer’s best ally, to know the times, the stages and the days of appearance of the artists – when the mind begins to be foggy. On this subject, know that you will find some 656 water points, free, and that water bottles are allowed on the festival site – but they must be empty when you return! Those most tempted by the party can rest assured, between the traditional bars, those of the big brands and the dozens of food trucks, there will be plenty to do.
Recharging bracelets… and phones
As in all festivals, and Garorock is no exception, payment for drinks will be made via chips and a Garopass bracelet. A “cashless” wallet that will allow you to make all your catering, merchandising and entertainment purchases. To recharge this bracelet, you can go to one of the “Garobanque” terminals (with credit card or cash) or use the Garorock application via your smartphone. If you already have your bracelet, you can create your Garocash account via the festival website and inject money into it. But it’s not just the bracelet that often needs to be recharged at festivals: in the age of social networks, the phone is an essential tool for festival-goers. No self-service charger on the concert site, but two “Global Charger” stands – located at the campsite and in the concert area – will offer you portable batteries adaptable for all smartphones. Different sizes are available, depending on requirements.

For those who would like to wander through the site without a single bag, Garorock provides lockers, which can be reserved and paid for online on the website www.mylocker.fr. Count between 10 and 30 euros depending on the size of the locker.
We cannot advise you on a particular outfit, as the weather is changeable and disguises are legion. Except for closed shoes – the rains of recent weeks have made the Filhole pitch somewhat dented. Just in case, sunscreen is allowed on the concert site. With all that, there’s no reason to have a headache the next day!
