The winner of season 15 of the M6 culinary competition formed strong bonds with the chef during his television adventure. He confirms them with this professional commitment.

This is what we call professional love at first sight. From the first moments of season 15 of « Top Chef » a strong bond was created between Jorick Dorignac and her brigade leader Stéphanie Le Quellec. During the competition, this alchemy continued to strengthen, the winner of season 2 of the culinary competition bringing her expertise to her foal to constantly help him progress.

She was also full of praise for him. « He is someone who has a lot of values and a strong family base. He is very kind, very pleasant and respectful of people, of his colleaguesshe told us on the set of the show. He started this profession at the age of 14, like me, and who freed himself a lot during “Top Chef”. He stripped down his kitchen a lot during the competition. It’s a beautiful story and a beautiful encounter for me. In the second part of the competition, our pair immediately did well. I saw him grow very quickly because he is intelligent and he has a lot of sensitivity. His cuisine is both imbued with personality and emotion but also very readable and impactful. »

Professional love at first sight

Jorick Dorignac was not left out when he spoke of his brigade leader, evoking a bond difficult to describe in words. “It’s complicated to explain because it’s the definition of a real human, professional encounterhe explained to us after his victory in the competition. Today, we see each other and call each other a lot. We did a six hands with Valentin in his restaurant La Scène and it was obvious. We didn’t need to talk to each other and she even told people that it was almost creepy to be so comfortable even though we’d never worked together. »

Today, this beautiful complicity is taking shape through a joint professional project: Jorick Dorignac will become, starting next October, the executive chef of the Maisons Le Quellec group belonging to the two-starred chef. Both of them jointly announced the news on their respective Instagram accounts.

“Viewers of “Top Chef” witnessed my meeting with Jorick, this season’s winner, and were able to see a relationship of mutual respect develop over the weeks. Our two worlds, although different, feed off each other, giving rise to a unique culinary understanding. I wanted to maintain and enrich this authentic human encounter. The real luxury of being a business owner is being able to work with people with whom you have a sincere connection and being able to integrate them into your professional life. I had been thinking about creating this position for many months and after meeting Jorick, offering him to support me within my houses seemed obvious to me”she wrote.

Jorick Dorignac also gave his feelings regarding this new adventure. “I have never stopped repeating that Chef Le Quellec was the most sincere meeting of this last year. We quickly spoke of the obvious because the alchemy happened naturally and quickly. His support was essential to my adventure and this collaboration within Maisons Le Quellec seems logical to me. I am full of enthusiasm at the idea of bringing my experience and my world to this new big family”he noted.

Jorick Dorignac had worked alongside the starred chef for six and a half years Guillaume Sanchez (himself a former “Top Chef” candidate) as executive chef. He will therefore leave his position in order to take up his new position in October with Stéphanie Le Quellec. He will be in charge of research and development of the latter’s three establishments: the two-star gourmet restaurant La Scène, Vive, focused on seafood, and the MAM caterer.
