The “Migrant’scène” festival organized by the solidarity association which helps exiled people, La Cimade, begins this Tuesday, November 19 and will be held until December 14 in Béziers. On the program: films, exhibitions, concerts, meals, discussions and conviviality.

“Affirm loud and clear that a just, inclusive and united society is much more desirable than a world torn apart by hatred and rejection of others”such is the watchword of Cimade, created in 1930, a key player in helping exiled people. And to bring this precept to life, the association organizes its “Migrant’scène” festival in around a hundred cities in .

“Crossing perspectives on migration”

The theme this year: “Let’s weave tomorrow! Make way for alternatives, make way for otherness” aims to “to meet perspectives on migration in a festive and friendly atmosphere”. In Béziers and all around, a large place is given to cinema with films programmed throughout the festival, until December 14.

The festivities start this Tuesday, November 19, in , at the Traveling cinema with the screening of “The Story of Souleymane”, directed by Boris Lojkine. A film which shocked last May and which relates the obstacle course of a young Guinean without papers, a bicycle deliveryman.

Discussion around the CRA project in Béziers

On November 22, meet at the Cimade de Béziers premises, for the documentary “Enclosed Children” by Noémie Ninnin and Sélime Benzeghia, followed by an exchange around the Administrative Detention Center (CRA) project in Béziers. On November 27, the exhibition of the association “Cuisine d’ailleurs à Béziers” will be presented at the MJC CS Trencavel, and other events are to be followed throughout the festival.

Please note: on December 14, a friendly evening around the “Chorale à ma cœur” from Bessan and a meal from “Cuisine d’ailleurs” will close this edition of the Migrant’scène festival.
