After “Get Back”, the summation documentary by Peter Jackson, and the restored version of the 1970 film “Let it be”, Disney+ has repositioned itself as guardian of the memory of the Beatles. The platform unveils the trailer for a new doc, “Beatles ’64”, produced by Martin Scorsese, who continues his own work on the group.

UBeatles attraction coming soon to Disneyland? The hypothesis is not so far-fetched, as the four trendy boys have become recurring characters in the world of the American firm, which watches over their memory. The platform first acquired the distribution rights to Peter Jackson’s monster documentary The Beatles : Get Backreleased in 2021, nearly eight-hour immersion into the group’s creative process during the recording of the album Let it be and the preparation of what would be his last concert, in 1969. Then, on May 8, Disney+ returned to the public Let it bethe original documentary whose falls served as the basis for Peter Jackson’s film. The New Zealand filmmaker himself ensured the restoration of this film made in 1970 by Michael Lindsay-Hogg and remained unobtainable for a long time. Caviar for the fans.

The enterprise continues with a new documentary, Beatles’64by David Tedeschi, expected on November 29 on the platform and whose trailer has just been revealed. A new contribution which benefited from the support of Martin Scorsese, producer of the film, who thus adds a stone to his own cinematographic edifice: a favorite of musical documentaries, he had already paid his tribute to the Beatles in 2011, by making the marvelous documentary George Harrison : Living in the material world.

Based on the rushes shot at the time by the famous documentary filmmakers Albert and David Maysles, restored in 4K still in Peter Jackson’s studios, the film focuses on the importation of Beatlemania during the four musicians’ trip to the United States. -United in 1964. The trailer gives a glimpse of the sublime black and white. Remixed live performances and never-before-seen interviews are also promised by Disney+, which is poised to become the Beatles museum. Ironic, when we know that John Lennon had signed the legal papers declaring the separation of the group while he was staying in Florida… at Disneyworld.
